Slideshow Manager is designed for giving slideshows.  Well that's obvious isn't it, so what different from the host of programs claiming to do the same thing?

Firstly it is aimed at producing the best quality images possible for showing using a digital projector and secondly it integrates panoramas into the slideshow.  You can zoom in on an image and also zoom out.  And, most importantly you can do it all interactively.

It's all very well setting up a slideshow, burning it to a DVD and showing it on the TV, but once done it's fixed and anyway while showing it to a few friends is OK the quality of the TV really doesn't do justice to all your lovely images.

What you need is a slideshow that comes up to the standard of the good old Kodak Projectors - remember how you could fade between images which gradually dissolved from one to the next?  And then it needs to be interactive.  All you have to do is point at an image, then you can zoom in on the chosen spot there and then.

Version 4 of Slideshow Manager adds:- 

• Captions (static and animated)

• Panoramas - vertical as well as horizontal

• Select a portion of an image and use that as a panorama

• Completely redesigned interface to make setting up your slideshow even easier

Fades Slideshow Manager shows pictures in sequence, just like a slideshow given with slides and a slide projector.

Panoramas Not only can you fade between pictures, you can fade into and out of panoramic photos, which scroll smoothly across the screen or up/down the screen (Try starting at the foot of a statue and panning up to finish at the head).

Zoom You can zoom in on a picture.  Just click a chosen point and Slideshow Manager will zoom in on this.  You can also preset the chosen point so that, when you click, the zoom runs automatically.

Scaling There's no need to edit your original pictures.  If they are larger than the current screen size then Slideshow Manager will automatically scale each image.

Setting up Selecting and arranging the pictures for your slideshow is easy as you drag and drop pictures where you want them in the show.

Automatic operation Having chosen the pictures, and arranged them in the order you want them to appear in the slideshow, you can save the setup and replay the slideshow, this time running entirely automatically.  Each picture can have its own transition type and display time.

Sound Music files or any soundtracks can easily be synchronised to the slideshow 

Monitor resolution  Slideshow Manager is designed for monitors set to either SVGA or XGA resolution - the two standards for generally available digital projectors, but will happily operate at higher resolutions
